London Fashion Week: Street Style

Yesterday was day 1 of London Fashion Week and I had a blast! I didn’t get to see any of the shows but just walking around Somerset House was a fashion show in itself. I was able to take some photos on my IPad of a range of different peoples personal style.

Casual Friday

Hello everyone, hope you’re all well. I’m sure many of you are because it’s Friday or as some of you like to call it Friyay!

I’m excited because it is London Fashion Week and I’m headed there now with a fellow Fashion Blogger/my friend Ruby.

Just thought i’d share with you all a casual look for a casual Friday work outfit or just an ordinary day.

If you don’t feel like dressing up, I believe this is a clean and simple look that suits everybody.

These shots were taken by my friend Peter Adeusi, we planned on doing another look but the London weather did not permit us this week, but the rain did help this time around. Umbrellas do make nice and stylish props if I do say so myself. Have a great weekend lovelies!

Day to Night

With the weekend approaching it means it’s almost time to let loose, relax and plan outfits for the weekend, that is if you plan on going out. Until then here is a little inspiration for what to wear after work on a Thursday or Friday night. You are probably thinking this outfit looks a little too familiar. That is because it is the exact same outfit from my last post but with different accessories. I you haven’t read my last post, you can check it out now and see the impressive prices I paid for each item worn.

I thought it would be cool to show you all how to re create the same outfit by only changing shoes and accessories. Ladies, you know how hard it can be having an hour if that to get ready after work for a nice night out. It doesn’t have to be to anywhere fancy, it can just be for some drinks, but sometimes you don’t want to wear the exact same thing you’ve been wearing all day at work and want to switch it up a little. I believe a change of shoes and accessories go a long way and saves a lot of time getting ready.

So it’s a win win situation really. The only few extra thing you might need are you hair tools and make up bag and you’re good to go. Everything in this look is from Primark. The biggest bargain here, is my burgundy clutch which was on sale for £3!

If you haven’t yet recreated your day outfit into your night outfit, give it a try. Trust me you’ll be happy you did so and will start experimenting with other pieces with your wardrobe to see what else you can mix and match for a day to evening look.

Work Wear

Like every woman, I love a good bargain buy and this whole outfit is just that.

I bought this whole look from Primark for only £30! I remember when I first wore the heritage culottes to a friend’s birthday dinner a few months ago and got so many compliments. I let a few of the ladies in on the secret, whispering “they were only £14 from Primark.”

You can imagine their reactions; they were probably just as shocked as you now reading this. It wasn’t even on sale, £14 were the original retailing price.

I’m not one to try things on in a store but I thought I would try them on because long culottes are not something I usually go for but they really caught my eye. I also tried on a black turtle neck batwing jersey jumper that I saw and they looked great together. It was only £6 so I bought that as well; now just imagine the outfit with a pair of black courts and a clutch or handbag.

What I love about these culottes is that they can go from day to evening wear. I think they are a perfect pair for the office, a business or casual lunch meeting and a dinner date.

The shirt I am sporting here is actually a men’s shirt. I bought a white men’s shirt from Primark before for only £5 but that somehow went missing (I think one of my siblings took it because I don’t lose my clothes). So I went back during the Christmas season on a hunt for another and the white shirts were out of stock but then I saw one that came with a skinny black tie for only £7 and bought it.

I also saw these black suede courts I am wearing here, in Primark’s shoe section, for only £9. I saw a pair on ASOS that practically look the same but these were selling for a quarter of the price so opted for these instead and there you have it. Three staple wardrobe pieces for a total of £30.
